I saw my friend Stephani in church today. “I’m swimming regularly,” she told me. “That’s great!” I told her. “I can swim a 100 without stopping,” she continued. “That’s hard,” I assured her. “My first triathlon is in two weeks,” she continued. I stumbled. Wow. She’s wanted to do a triathlon, even mentioned splitting one with me, after which I tripped all over myself trying to work my way up into being able to do that, and she’s just quietly working toward that end.

It sounds so cool. It’s at the Y, and it’s 20 minutes of swimming, 20 minutes of biking, and 20 minutes of running. And my knees are so sore from doing Girls on the Run with my 8 year old that I can’t even imagine trying to do a triathlon any time soon. I do want to go and cheer her on, though. Right after I get my heart out of my mouth. . .
